Y Bardd Newydd (Radio)
At the moment there are many talented young playwrights in Wales, but only a limited number of theatres and theatregoers. YBN is a project that will provide direct access to new works of spoken word plays, poetry and prose. Using scripts written by some of Wales' best new writers and performed by a new generation of actors, each month a new CD of YBN will be available. As well as producing a monthly CD of premium recordings, there will be additional material available to registered Friends of YBN free of charge. By trying to reinvigorate the ancient tradition of inviting bards to perform in one's own house, YBN will help Wales to reclaim its reputation as one of the world's most prestigious literary and dramatic nations. Each YBN CD will not only contain work from established names like 3-time Urdd Eisteddfod Drama Medal winner Luned Emyr, but will also feature a specially commissioned artwork from Danish artist Johanne Eggert and will feature a score by Italian pianist Paolo Poti.
A webspace designed for the release of the new novella from English author Francis D. Harriman, "Julia and the hunt for the magical, mysterious buttlefly".
Living for Today (video, 45') A new documentary about the monumental effect a simple decision can have. When Sarah Cornelius discovered her young son Joshua had terminal cancer, they decided that they would live every moment to the full. After Joshua's death, Sarah was compelled by others to promote the positive attitude she and Joshua shared to benefit of others in a similar situation. She founded The Joshua Foundation, a charity that not only aims to make life better for children with terminal cancer, but also improve the world around us during the fundraising process. This poignant film reminds us that if we were confronted with the truth, we'd be making the most of the time we have and living for today.
